The point is this...whether he is misguided or not, he is calling attention to the issue. And that in itself is more than what 99.9% of the rest of us can say we have done for any cause. BTW, I'm against stronger laws that would prevent the ordinary citizen from purchasing or owning guns...but I am for tighter scrutiny for those with questinoable backgrounds...

The problem with gun control is that there needs to be a crackdown somehow in the black market. I also agree that restrictions should be put on those who have prior mental issues, but it should be simple for Honest John Q Public to acquire a gun.

Permit? Why would one need a permit to buy a gun? Not in VA.

Why should Cho have anything to do with the discussion?

The sun wasn't blocked by the trees...it only shone on the tree tops. The temp was hotter in a different place. Sorta like not knowing a diesel engine does a better job of changing fuel to energy and burning hydro-carbons. Kinda like a magician ,or politician with the cash to buy the folks the oil industry has. You can make it sound anyway you want. The next thing you are gonna do is pay for the insurance to cover a new group of nuke plans. Since we don't want to invest in the tech to clean our coal burning plants. If this had been done in the 60s/70s we would have never heard of Bin Lauden, because he would have been broke. Except for the investments with the Bush family.

"America has more coal reserves than Saudi Arabia has oil reserves. Aren't we safer and better off relying on our own coal reserves than on a part of the world that is a threat to us?"?

How do you propose we do that? Take a look at the country everyone loves to spotlight, the UK. Take a look at what it takes to legally own a gun there. Then take a look at who actually has the guns.

The same goes for Australia or any other country that has banned citizen or civilian (detestable words) ownership of firearms.

And to finally set timmy straight on what it takes.

Go to gun store. Select gun. Fill out federal 4473 and VA form (form # escapes my mind). Dealer calls VSP, provides info, purchase approved, delayed, or denied. Pay the $$, walk out with gun.

Many love to tout the 'gun-show loophole'. This 'loophole' is simply the ability of John Q Public to sell from his personal collection as he see's fit. Those who wish to see the awful guns disappear would rather every little transfer go through an FFL. That way they've got your name and address when the time comes to confiscate.

I have know idea how to do that. Thats why its called a black market. Like I said, I don't have a bit of problem with most people owning guns, and I think more law abidings should.

There never will be a way to control it, because those looking for something, will surely find it no matter how hard they have to search.

IMO, a non-registered fire arm is worth more ($ wise) than a registered one!
